Barrow Together: One Gift, One Project, One Life at a Time
Barrow Together began with a simple promise: when people give together, local nonprofits can do more for the neighbors they serve. The initiative launched in 2025 with $50,000 and a clear purpose – to give individuals, businesses, and community leaders a central place to invest in organizations building a stronger, more vibrant Barrow County. It is a way for every donor, at every level, to be part of local solutions.
In 2024-2025, the Foundation distributed $1.495 million in grants to 19 organizations through the combined impact of the Crisis Fund, scholarships, Winder Legacy Park, and the launch of Barrow Together. Barrow Together helps sustain and expand that kind of local grantmaking by giving donors a shared way to invest in nonprofits addressing real needs close to home. As the Foundation listens to community priorities – including housing insecurity, life skills, financial literacy and self-sufficiency, early literacy and more- Barrow Together creates a practical pathway for generosity to move from concern into action.
A gift to Barrow Together becomes part of something larger than any one contribution. One donor’s generosity joins another’s. One nonprofit’s firsthand knowledge of a need meets the resources to respond. One project opens the door to greater stability, opportunity, or hope for our neighbors. “Barrow Together is the community saying we do not have to choose between urgent needs and long-term hope,” said BCF Board Vice Chair Raymond Reynolds. “When we give together, we can build both.”
