Barrow Community Foundation seeks to improve the economic strength of Barrow County by focusing on causes that promote quality jobs, entrepreneurship, business growth, housing, tourism, downtown development, and quality of life.

Since 2009, BCF has granted thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving college-bound students from Barrow County schools. The Foundation also supports schools and non-profits through Barrow Together, our community grants program.  Early childhood education, school readiness, literacy, mentoring and other community-based initiatives are important priorities for funding.

Barrow Community Foundation seeks to improve the environment around Barrow County by focusing on causes that promote clean outdoor living areas, parks and recreation, and other causes. The development of Winder Legacy Park is a great example of how donors can make an impact.  This $5M destination park features a state-of-the art playground, event field and a 1/3-mile concrete walking path.  Future developments include a splashpad, food truck court, dog parts, sports courts, reading nooks and more.

Barrow Community Foundation seeks to improve life for individuals and families around Barrow by focusing on causes that unify our citizens through the power of philanthropy and provide healthy and safe living environments for our citizens. Initiatives that address food insecurity, homelessness and housing affordability, physical and mental health, youth development, and other social needs are included in the Foundation’s priorities for funding.
