The Slaughter Educational Scholarship initially began in 1967 through a donation to Barrow County Schools, and these scholarship funds are now managed by The Barrow Community Foundation Inc. The scholarship is awarded annually to one or more graduating high school seniors from Barrow County’s public schools who have been accepted to an accredited college or university and plan to pursue an educational degree.
